Distributed Transformer Design Application

The Distributed Transformer Design Application was developed for Tyree Transformers, a renowned company established in 1946 by Sir William Tyree, which has become a leading name in transformer manufacturing across Australasia and beyond. As part of the Tyree Group, which operates manufacturing and distribution facilities in Australia and New Zealand, the company sought to modernize and streamline its design processes.

The project’s primary goal was to replace the complex MS Excel spreadsheet-based designs with a more standardized and simplified system. By implementing this new application, Tyree Transformers aimed to dramatically improve design preparation and optimization, resulting in more efficient and accurate processes. The application also facilitates seamless integration between different systems, automating previously time-consuming and manual tasks, thereby reducing the risk of data loss and distortion.

The system was built using Angular 6+, .Net, C#, and SQL Server. These technologies support the application’s robust features, including integrated costing and design calculations, complex engineering computations, multithreaded processing, and integration with Syspro MRP for manufacturing instructions and design automation.

The result is a powerful tool that not only enhances the accuracy and efficiency of transformer design but also standardizes processes across the board. This innovation has significantly improved cross-system coordination and has reduced the manual effort required, ensuring greater accuracy and reliability in Tyree Transformers’ design and manufacturing workflows.
